What's New

December 02, 2017

My new series is coming along well. I am interested in landscapes which relate to three general process: access points (e.g. road/trail/river), secondary succession (e.g. landslides/fallen trees), and human settlements (e.g. cattle/garbage).  Each of these process shapes the environment (landscape) over time having an immediate and a cumulative effect. I am also looking for a way landscape can contain a historical and social dimensions. Check out my Facebook page for examples of recent work and research.

I am really excited about having been accepted for an exploration residency at Fundación ´ace para el Arte Contemporáneo in Argentina next year.  ACE offers a stimulating environment where I can process my intensive experience at LABVERDE while expending it further in the context of a major human settlement.  I am excited about the opportunity to revisit such a major human settlement which still harbors the remnants of an ancient forest.

My new series Nature, a Space of Flows is evolving nicely. Just finished a third piece based on my time in Canoa, Ecuador, a surf town situated next to scenic sand cliffs. I am now working on a piece inspired by a gorge near where I live, where Etobicoke creek flows.

I am really happy to announce that out of 210 submissions, from 36 different countries I was selected for one of 15 spots available at Labverde, an art residency in the Amazon forest.  I will use my time there to expend on my current project, Fluidity: Nature as a space of flows in the summer of 2018.
